Memorandum submitted to DC and Superintendent of Police in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: On Monday, the Golaghat Regional Students’ Union sent a memo to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police in Golaghat demanding that no loud music be played during exams in the marriage bhawan in Golaghat town.

In a press release, the president and secretary of the Golaghat Regional Students’ Union, Hriday Ranjan Khatoniar and Himangsu Saikia, respectively, stated that it has been observed that during exams, a lot of the marriage bhawan in Golaghat town use loud sound systems and firecrackers to celebrate marriage ceremonies. Also, they mentioned that numerous programmes and the marriage bhawan used loud sound systems till late at night at a time when students were taking key exams in their lives. The pupils at HSLC, High Madrassa, and HS have greatly suffered as a result. A team from the Golaghat Regional Students’ Union went to the Golaghat DC and SP on Monday and urged that the use of loud sound systems during exams be prohibited.
