MP Topon Kumar Gogoi launches ONGC's drinking water project in Charaideo district

GAURISAGAR: Newly-elected MP Tapon Kumar Gogoi visited ONGC Assam Asset, Nazira recently. In his maiden visit to the Assam Asset after being elected as MP of Jorhat Constituency, Executive Director-cum-Asset Manager, Assam Asset, Nazira, Suresh D Maske extended a warm traditional welcome to the MP with a gamosa, seleng sador, japi and a flower bouquet.

Assuring all-out support of the government to ONGC, the MP expressed confidence that ONGC with all its strategic initiatives to boost oil and gas production in Assam would usher enhanced economic activity in the entire region. Later, MP Tapon Kumar Gogoi and Suresh D Maske jointly launched ONGC, Assam Asset's ambitious drinking water project under which Reverse Osmosis (RO) based water coolers, including borewells, will be installed in 15 schools and two PHEs of Charaideo district to make clean drinking water available to the students and patients.

The project was launched at the Safrai PHE, Charaideo district. These are proactive CSR initiatives by ONGC, Assam Asset under its Swachhta Pakhwada fortnight from July 1-July 15. While launching the project at Charaideo, Tapon Kumar Gogoi highly appreciated ONGC Assam Asset's proactive CSR. He also encouraged the students to be role models for the Swachha Bharat Mission, ensuring a clean, hygienic and healthy India. In the financial year 2017-18, Assam Asset's school drinking water project benefitted more than 10,000 school children in 32 schools in Sivasagar and Charaideo districts at project cost of Rs.1.07 crore. The project is now being extended to benefit another 15,000 school children.
