Mushroom cultivation training launched at Sipajhar for women entrepreneurs

MANGALDAI: The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Darrang, in collaboration with the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Darrang, launched a 10-day Mushroom Cultivation Training Programme on June 2 at the Sipajhar Development Block campus. Sipajhar legislator Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi, Bhrigupati Roy, BDO of Sipajhar Development Block, and officials from ASRLM and RSETI Darrang attended the inaugural event.

Addressing the function, Dr. Rajbongshi emphasized the nutritional value and growing market demand for mushrooms, and proposed a roadmap for future development.

Deepak Sutradhar, DPM of ASRLM Darrang, underlined the importance of women’s empowerment through skill development, while Kamakhya Narayan Tiwari, Director of RSETI Darrang, encouraged participants to make the most of RSETI’s training programmes to gain practical knowledge.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Kishor Kr. Sarmah, Senior Faculty, RSETI Darrang. The training programme is aimed at the beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan (MMUA) under the Sipajhar Development Block.
