Nagaon Lions Club sends 48 eye patients for surgery

In the first phase, 16 people with specific eye problems were ceremonially sent to Guwahati Eye Hospital for immediate surgery by Nagaon Lions Club on Wednesday.

NAGAON: In the first phase, 16 people with specific eye problems were ceremonially sent to Guwahati Eye Hospital for immediate surgery by Nagaon Lions Club on Wednesday. The club will meet all expenses, including medical, fooding, lodging and transportation.

Total 48 people with specific eye problems among 182, were medically screened for immediate surgery at a special medical camp organized by Nagaon Lions Club in the last week of December at its office in the town. The rest will be sent to Guwahati Eye Hospital for immediate surgery in the second phase.

In the deporting ceremony held at the office premise of the Club, Mala Sarma Bordoloi, president of Nagaon Lions Club, Biswajit Mahanta, Paban Bora, Pranab Das and other club members felicitated the patients before sending them to Guwahati.
