NAGAON: The cadets of 8 Assam battalion, NCC, Tezpur Group Headquarters organized a cycle rally from Nagaon to Chapanala covering a distance of around 35 kilometres via Mohamritunjaya Mandir on Sunday last. The theme of the rally was 'say no to plastic'.
Around 65 NCC cadets from Nowgong College (autonomous), ADP College, Dr BKB college and Koliabor college as well as other associate NCC officers and permanent instructors of NCC participated in the cycle rally.
Significantly, following the cycle rally, the participants also cleaned up a larger area of the picnic spot at Chapanala as well as its stream behind by picking up the garbage of plastic bottles, polythene bags and other disposable containers thrown by groups of various picnic parties a couple of months ago, a release issued by Saiful Islam, NCC officer and teacher of Nagaon Govt Boys' HS School added.
