NAGAON: The cadets and staff of 8 Assam NCC battalion, Tezpur Group (HQ) visited Navajivan Children's Home and Orphanage at Nagaon on Wednesday. The institution provides shelter to specially-abled children and abandoned infants. During the visit, NCC cadets distributed various items like Lactogen and diapers for infants as well as a set of dress, pair of slippers, pillows, bathing soaps and washing powders among the inmates of the orphanage. Besides, the cadets also gifted recreational items like carrom board to the orphanage for the use of those inmates. The inmates were very happy interacting with NCC cadets and overjoyed to receive these items from them.
The event concluded with refreshment organized for the inmates and the staff of the orphanage. Col Amar Singh, SM CO 8 Assam NCC Battalion, thanked the staff of Navajivan Children's Home and Orphanage for their laudable work in taking care of abandoned children and uplifting the underprivileged of the society.
