NCHAC releases books on Dimasa History at Haflong

Haflong: On the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day celebration, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Debolal Gorlosa released two books titled History of the Dimasas and Other Writings of SR Thaosen by Vandana Thaosen and A brief account of the tribes of Dima Hasao Assam by Ramdina Lalsim, published under the Department of Information and Public Relations, Hills, Haflong on Wednesday.

Authored by Vandana Thaosen, grand-daughter of SR Thaosen, History of the Dimasas and Other Writings of SR Thaosen is a collection of writings by Sonaram Thaosen. His enterprising spirit is reflected in his life and writings. Vandana Thaosen said that the book was a collection of relevant factual writings of reflective materials. The other book, written by Ramdina Lalsim, is the sincere effort by the author to highlight the traditions, culture, habits, feast, and festivals of the tribes of the district. The book will help the rest of the world understand the people of Dima Hasao - where they come from, who they are and other aspects of the tribal people of this hilly district.
