The newly-constituted executive body of Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom took oath in a programme organized in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district on Sunday.

LAKHIMPUR: The newly-constituted executive body of Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom took oath in a programme organized in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district on Sunday.

The oath-taking ceremony was organized under the auspices of Dhakuakhana district unit of the Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom at the historic Devi-Peeth Shri Shri Iswari Harhi Dewalaya premises, which is the glorious contribution of Chutia royal dynasty in Assam. The agenda of the event began with a religious programme of paying obeisance to goddess Durga in the Dewalaya shrine.

Notably, the the 28th executive body (central committee) of the Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom was meanwhile constituted with youth leader Mohan Saikia of Jorhat as president and Koustobh Kishor Chutia of Dhakuakhana as general secretary. In the programme, former president of the organization, Bitopan Saikia administered the oath to the office beaters of the newly constituted Executive Body.

Sodou Asom Chutia Jati Sanmilan general secretary Haren Chutia attended the programme as chief guest. He called upon the youth organization to work relentlessly for the all-round development and progress of the native community and to safeguard the judicious rights of the community people. "No organization without strong relation with the grassroots can ensure development of the society," Haren Chutia stated while delivering his lecture. Former general secretary of Chutia Yuva Sanmilan, Asom, Basanta Saikia also delivered lecture in the programme.
