Non-Vaccinated Individuals To Not Be Given Government Facilities: Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta

Guwahati: In a review meeting held on September 1, Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta announced that the individuals who have not been vaccinated with at least a single dose of vaccine will not be given any governmental facilities.

The review meeting was held to evaluate the status of the vaccination process at the office Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup district.

The Health Minister said, "If the eligible person does not take COVID vaccine, he will be deprived of government facilities in future. So, collect the information on the basis of the election structure and provide vaccine to all the eligible people of the district and complete this process within September."

Assam HM Keshab Mahanta was in indulged in a discussion with the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup district, Kailash Karthik N, the district administration and heath department officials. The implementation of a new strategy to ensure proper completion of vaccination effectively was ordered by the health minster.

The vaccination of people on the basis of election system was suggested by Mahanta to make sure that 100% of the people that are eligible are vaccinated in the district.

He has also instructed the BLOs, Gaonburhas, and Asha Karmis to collect proper data on the basis of which a proper list can be compiled. Then, the vaccination can be done at polling stations, or even door to door, if required. Proper training is also to be provided to concerned individuals responsible for collecting data so that the process can run smoothly and effectively.

A 24x7 vaccination system is also to be installed in some districts for the convenience of the public. Proper location of vaccination centres is to be planned taking into considering the re-opening of schools and educational institutions.
