JORHAT: The North-East Affected Area Development Society (NEADS) has taken out a cycle rally titled called “Pedal for people and planet” on Tuesday which started from Majuli college at Kamala Bari in Majuli in collaboration with Majuli College and local cycling enthusiasts. The cycle rally is aimed to raise awareness about climate change and advocate for urgent actions to combat its devastating impacts.
Amid the backdrop of rising temperatures and increasing climate crisis, the concerned community in the island showcased their determination to be part of the solution. Dressed in white t-shirts and caps, and waving banners emblazoned with pro-environment messages, the cyclists formed a vibrant and united front, drawing attention to the urgency of climate change mitigation. This cycle rally symbolizes the resolve to embrace sustainable practices and foster a greener and healthier environment. The cycle rally attracted people of all ages, from young students to environmental workers, united by their shared commitment to make a positive impact on the environment.
