Rajib Saikia (50), a resident of Dekasundar village here breathed his last at his residence on Saturday evening due to kidney related prolonged illness. Former secretary of Dekasundar Yuvak Sangha and an entrepreneur Saikia was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the greater Jamugurihat area. His untimely demise was widely mourned here. Organisations and individuals including Dekasundar Village Development Committee, Naduar Press Club, Jamuguri branch of Assam Sahitya Sabha, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev Namdharma Samaj along with others paid rich tributes to the mortal remains. He left behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives.
