BONGAIGAON: Man-elephant conflict in Bishpani area of Bijni subdivision in Chirang district claimed the life of one Sridam Mondol on Tuesday night. As per sources, a wild jumbo entered his cottage on Tuesday night and trampled him to death. On Wednesday, the BTC Bengali Yuba Chatra Federation along with local people staged protest at Bishpani. They demanded compensation for the victim's family and permanent solution to the man-elephant conflict.
