One more detected coronavirus positive in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: One more COVID-19 patient was detected in Lakhimpur on Saturday. The patient has been identified as Sagar Saha (28), resident of Laluk near UBI Bank.

As per report, Sagar Saha had been at Sakkarpur in New Delhi since early March in connection with the Union Public Service Commission exam. He came back home on June 17 by flight via Dibrugarh Mohanbari Airport and then reached North Lakhimpur town by bus. On the same day, his swab sample was collected at North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital and he was quarantined at Hotel Alakananda. He was shifted to the Dedicated COVID Hospital at Telahi Model Hospital after his swab sample was reported positive for coronavirus.

On Saturday, the Lakhimpur District Health Department sent a total of 274 swab samples to Assam Medical College and Hospital for COVID-19 test. Till Friday, the District Health Department quarantined a total of 2,957 returnees from other States from May 14 at 40 COVID Care Centres (CCC) set up at various hotels, colleges and other establishments.
