DEMOW: Under the Demow forest beat office in Bhimpuwa Bhagyapur area near Demow, a rhino was seen by the local people on Friday morning. According to information received, the rhino was seen in a garden and created panic among the people there.

Reports said that the rhino charged at the people and attacked a woman, injuring her. It also attacked and broke a motorcycle. The locals informed the forest officials of the Demow forest beat office following which the officials and Nitaipukhuri police came and guarded the people of that area.

A forest official told the media that they, along with Nitaipukhuri police, reached the spot at 5 AM after getting the information that a rhino was seen behind the Bhimpuwa High School.

The rhino has been seen roaming in the area for the last few months, informed a forest official.
