LAKHIMPUR: Like the previous years, Phat Bihu will be celebrated at Mohghuli Chapori on the bank of Charikoriya river in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district this year too from May 12 to May 14. In this connection, the celebration committee has undertaken preparation to celebrate the festival on the designated days by holding on its past glory. As a part of the preparation, a temporary office of the festival, titled as “Phat Bihu - 2023”, was inaugurated in Dhakuakhana town on Thursday evening in a festive environment. Amid the blended notes of Bihu Naam, sounds of traditional Bihu musical instruments, the office was inaugurated by ‘Bihuwa’ Nanda Chutia, who is also a theatre personality. The event was attended by Phat Bihu committee president Basanta Saikia, secretary Bhaskar Das, celebration committee president Nitul Baruah, secretary Banshyam Gogoi along with many other dignitaries.
