PM Modi Lands In Guwahati Ahead Of Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Assam for the Jhumoir Binandini event at Sarusajai Stadium, featuring 8,000 dancers aiming for a Guinness World Record.

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has landed in Guwahati today and will head to Sarusajai Stadium to witness Jhumoir Binandini event scheduled to be held from 6:30 PM. He was warmly welcomed by Assam Governor Lakshmi Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Borjhar Airport.

Jhumoir Binandini showcases Assam's stunning Jhumoir folk dance that is a testimony to the richness of Assamese culture. The event will propagate the artistic heritage of the state and is an important festival for the native community.

CM Sarma made the announcement regarding PM Modi's two-day visit to Guwahati. The visit will include a lively Jhumur performance, which will be graced by several foreign delegates, led by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

The Jhumoir Binandini program will see over 8,000 dancers perform the traditional Jhumoir dance at Sarusajai Stadium with the goal of achieving a Guinness World Record. The lively dance that is closely linked to the tea tribes of Assam reflects the rich cultural heritage and social tradition of the community. The energetic dance form has firm cultural roots and has evolved as a social unification of migrant workers who migrated from the Chhota Nagpur Plateau.

Following this cultural showcase, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Advantage Assam 2.0 exhibition, an initiative designed to highlight the state's historical, current and future potential for investment and development.
