GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to Assam in February 2025 to attend the Mega Jhumur Performance and the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit after receiving an invitation from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Following a meeting with the Prime Minister in New Delhi, where they talked about the state's current and upcoming developmental efforts, the news was shared on social media by CM Sarma.
“Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege to receive PM Narendra Modi’s guidance on various developmental issues. On behalf of the people of Assam, I also had the pleasure to invite him to bless the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit and Mega Jhumur Performance in February 2025, which he has kindly accepted to grace,” the Assam CM wrote in his X post.
It is anticipated that the Mega Jhumur Performance will be a cultural highlight honouring Assam's rich legacy. Jhumur, a customary dance connected to the tea garden villages of the state, symbolises harmony and happiness. Assam's artistic diversity will be promoted and its cultural richness will be presented to a national audience through the event.
Meanwhile, attracting investments and showcasing the state's potential as a centre for industrial and infrastructure development would be the main goals of the Assam Investor & Infrastructure Summit. The event is anticipated to become even more prominent with PM Modi's presence, attracting investors and stakeholders from all over the country.
With Assam establishing itself as a hub for both cultural celebration and economic development, preparations are probably going to pick up speed in the coming months. The twin events emphasize the state's efforts to raise its status as a travel and investment destination while showcasing its future development strategy.
