Prasanna Bora, Former Journalist’s And One Of The Founders Of Media Organization Demise Condoled in Mangaldai, Assam

MANGALDAI, July 27: Prasanna Bora, former journalist and one of the founders of media organization, a retired official of the Directorate of Central Census and a leading citizen of Jyoti Nagar area of Mangaldai town, passed away on Wednesday night due to cardiac arrest. He was 74. Besides serving as the Mangaldai-based correspondent of erstwhile Natun Dainik, a vernacular daily for several years, he was also actively associated with many non-political socio-cultural organizations, including Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Darrang district unit, Mangaldai Citizen Forum. He was loved by all sections of people for his amiable and cooperative nature.

His demise has cast a pall of gloom among the media fraternity and other socially enlightened people of greater Mangaldai. He leaves behind his wife Kiran Saikia Bora, a retired headmistress of Mangaldai Town Boys’ LP School , two sons and two daughters, including Assamese radio news reader Kaberi Bora Mazumdar, in addition to a host of relatives and well-wishers.
