Preliminary Process to Recruit One Lakh Youths Underway: MP Pradan Baruah

LAKHIMPUR: "The BJP-led ruling coalition government of the State, headed by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, has managed to obtain support, trust and faith from all sections of the people of the State. It is the major achievement of the State Government during the first month. The Chief Minister has led the government efficiently to ensure development in the State. The people of the State will witness drastic changes in the developmental activities of the State which we have been relentlessly continuing since the first term of our office," said Pradan Baruah, the MP of Lakhimpur House of Parliamentary Constituency (HPC), in Lakhimpur on Thursday. He said this while addressing a press conference convened by Lakhimpur district unit of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) at North Lakhimpur Press Club on the occasion of the successful completion of one month by the State Government.

In the press conference, the MP underlined the achievements of the BJP-led State Government during the first month of its term. Addressing the media persons, the MP asserted that the preliminary process to recruit one lakh youths of the State was underway.

"In this regard, a high-level meeting was already held with Finance Minister Ajanta Neog in the chair. The meeting reviewed the vacancy status in all departments under the State Government. This recruitment will be held to fulfill our poll promise of providing government jobs to one lakh youths of the State every year. In this connection, a total of 35,000 posts will be created in the Police Department as per decision taken in the meeting with the Superintendents of Police held at Kaziranga National Park on Wednesday," Pradan Baruah stated.

He added that the State Government had adopted special policies to make Assam flood and erosion free and to provide relief to the flood-affected people. "The Deputy Commissioners of the districts have been given due responsibility to help and provide flood relief to the flood-affected people at the earliest without any delay. This year we want to save the people from flood. The major schemes and policies to make the State flood and erosion-free will be implemented from next year. In this regard, the due processes will be initiated from the month of August of the current year," the MP asserted.

Further, the MP claimed that combating COVID-19 and tacking the adverse pandemic situation, hike in the wage of tea garden workers, curbing and arrest of drugs peddlers, controlling the transit of cows from the State and arrest of cattle smugglers, initiating strict and stern action against various syndicates were some other major achievements of the one-month old State Government.

The press conference was also addressed by Lakhimpur district unit BJP president Phanidhar Baruah and Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka. Along with the MP, MLA Manab Deka stated that the State Government had taken strict stand against NEEPCO with regard to discharging excess water from the Ranganadi Hydro Electric Plant. They informed that all facilities to treat COVID-19 patients would be available in Lakhimapur Medical College and Hospital within a short span of time.

"Moreover, the RCC bridge over Subansiri at Ghagar Ghat will be constructed soon. The preliminary process for the same is underway at present. To build the drainage system of North Lakhimpur town effectively, the people of the town should extend due cooperation to the administration," the MP and the MLA asserted.
