GOALPARA: A public complaint was filed this week before the District Commissioner, Goalpara by the residents of Nayapara Sonbari area of Goalpara town against the recent construction of a road alleging it as faulty.

The locals alleged that the municipality road that connects Nayapara to Bamunpara via Sonbari has been an important part of communication in the town but that the contractor had used less proportion of cement, sand and crushed stone in its mixture and even the breadth of the road had been narrowed in places.

It is further alleged that due to the lack of proper post-construction curing, the surface of the newly-constructed road has lifted and the inner crushed stones have become visible, thereby posing threat to the longevity of the road.

Locals pleaded with the DC to arrange earth filling on both sides of the road and construction of drains.
