GUWAHATI: With Jio's consolidated revenue market share (RMS) leadership at 44.5 percent in the first quarter of this financial year improving from 42 percent over the previous quarter the responsibility to provide an uninterrupted network has also been taken into consideration by Jio heros.

Jio has been able to garner its market leadership in Assam through a robust 4G LTE network deployment covering more than 95 percent of the total population, 215 Towns, and more than 26586 villages in Assam.

Apart from the rapid deployment of more than 8000 4G sites across the State of Assam, Reliance Jio has also recently enhanced its spectrum deployment in the entire state of Assam. Jio Assam has been the first telecom operator to set up a High-speed Broadband network in 19 major District Headquarters of Assam where customers can now enjoy triple-play Jio Fiber services. Triple play is the concept of availing the three services of Voice, Video, and high-speed Internet with a single connection. In order to further spread its digital services in the state Reliance Jio is now breaking up its Jio Points across rural areas to Mini Jio Points to reach out and service the rural population of the State at their doorsteps.

On the other hand, Reliance Jio completed five years of operation on Monday and wishes poured in from those who benefitted from the cheap data plans offered by the telecom disruptor - tech giants and unicorns.

Since Mukesh Ambani launched Jio in India back in September 2016, data usage in the country has zoomed 1,300 percent and the number of broadband users quadrupled.

Further, Jio Phone Next is said to be available in two models: Basic and an Advanced version. The former is said to cost Rs 5,000, while the latter is reported to be priced at Rs 7,000. Jio is aiming to sell 50 million Jio Phone Next units in the next 6 months.
