DONGKAMUKAM: Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) of Chennai, in collaboration with Caritas India, on Saturday distributed relief materials to 136 families of Deramukh village, West Karbi Anglong. The village was one of the worst-affected areas by the floods. The chairman of Southern Region of YMCA Dr Vincent George attended the programme as chief guest at Deramukh. In his speech he said, "The association has branches in 136 countries all over the world. We have supplied aids not only here in Assam but outside India too. Today by seeing the condition of the people here I have decided to adopt the Deramukh village for our mission." In the programme, Gideon Thangaraj, YMCA Madras member, F Rymbui, YMCA member from Shillong and others were present.
