Resident Chief Executive of OIL felicitated by Doomdooma Press Club

DOOMDOOMA: Resident Chief Executive (RCE), Oil India Limited (OIL), Duliajan, Prasanta Borkakoti who hails from Doomdooma was accorded a warm felicitation by Doomdooma Press Club (DPC) on Sunday. He was offered a citation, phulam gamocha, Xarai and a cheleng chador as a token of love and respect on behalf of the club. RCE Borkakoti, is son of Prafulla Borkakoti, former Headmaster, Kakapather Girls' High School and Tunu Borkakoti. After his early education at Doomdooma, he passed out from Goalpara Sainik School and then obtained BE degree in Civil Engineering from Regional Engineering College (now NIT), Calicut in Kerala. He joined OIL as an executive trainee (ET) in Civil Engineering Department, Duliajan on June 6, 1986, and worked in various departments and locations of OIL in States like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Corporate Office, NOIDA(UP). He rose to the position of Resident Chief Executive (RCE), OIL, Field Headquarter on May 1, 2021. He practices active learning and believes in developing learning strategies that helped in all the different roles that he had undertaken. In his speech, Borkakoti said that he would endeavour to upgrade the current status of OIL from 'Navaratna Company' to 'Maharatna Company' and if it can attain the target of producing 4 million metric tons of crude oil annually by 2023-24, then OIL would be in a position to enhance 4 to 5 per cent of its profit for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
