Rima Das' Award Winning Bulbul Can Sing To Hit Theaters In Assam On Friday

Rima Das’s critically acclaimed Assamese feature film Bulbul Can Sing is equipped to hit the screens across Assam this Friday (September 20).

“We are coming to a theatre close to you in the state on September twenty and from September twenty-seven all over India PVR Vakao release! Need your love and blessings,” Rima Das said it in a Facebook post on Sunday.

The Film Bulbul Can Sing won the Rajat Kamal for the most effective Assamese Film at the 66th National Film Awards.

Based against a rural backcloth, Bilbul Can Sing is a visceral coming-of-age drama about a teenage girl, Bulbul, living in a village in Assam, fighting her means through love and loss as she figures out who she really is.

The cast of the film includes Arnali Das, Bonita Thakuriya, Manoranjoan Das, Manabendra Das, and Pakija Begam. The film has to this point been screened in 40 film festivals as well as Toronto International Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival across the world and has bagged thirteen awards.
