Rotary Club distributes masks, hand sanitizers in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: The Rotary Club of Hailakandi distributed masks and hand sanitizers to the employees of the District Information and Public Relations (DIPRO) here on Monday.

Chairman, Youth Services of Rotary Club, Biva Bhushan Chakraborty handed over the masks and hand sanitizers to DIPRO, Sabir Nishat and the employees of the office. He was accompanied by vice president, Rotary Club of Hailakandi, Shankar Choudhury. Nishat thanked Rotary Club of Hailakandi for the laudable initiative and said that such a step would help to keep novel coronavirus away.

The organization distributed the protective items to media persons, health workers, police personnel, DC and SP, Fire and Emergency Services, DDMA and other government offices besides the poor and needy persons who do not have the means to buy masks. Altogether 250 hand sanitizers and 1,200 masks would be distributed. It has also reached out to around 60 persons in distress by providing rations during the lockdown. The organization has donated Rs. 50,000 to PM-CARES.
