Rs 1.50 crore recovered from railway employee's house in Barpeta

BARPETA: Barpeta Police recovered above Rs 1.50 crore from the residence of Devaraj Das, a Grade III railway officer, at Gandhinagar, Barpeta on Saturday morning.

Police raided his house and recovered the money from the almirah and drawer. Devaraj Das is a Grade III worker in the technical division of the Railway department in Bongaigaon. The operation was laid by Madan Kalita, DSP, Barpeta. Police interrogation of Devaraj Das was going at Barpeta sadar police station till the filing of this report.

The source of the money recovered is yet to be revealed but it is suspected that it might be related to the SI recruitment exam scam.
