Dibrugarh: In a show of humanity and empathy, Salt Brook School has managed to collect an amount of more than Rs 1 lakh for a student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Doomdooma afflicted with a life-threatening disease.

Rishab Dutta, a student of Class XI, is suffering from Aplastic Anemia, a condition when one’s body stops producing enough new blood cells. The disorder can be cured by bone marrow transplantation. But since he does not have a matched sibling donor, he will now have to undergo peripheral blood stem cell transplant with matched unrelated donor. The treatment would cost around Rs 55 lakh and the family has managed to gather a small part of the amount by selling off all their assets. Falling short of the treatment cost by far, the family decided to seek help from the public to save their only son.
