KOKRAJHAR: A unique food festival of ethnic tastes was organized on the bank of the Saraisor Beel near Rupsi Airport in Porbatjhora of Kokrajhar district from January 12 to 14. The festival attracted the people from the surrounding areas.
As a part of the festival, various cultural programmes were also organized. The festival ended with a cultural rally which went through road and water. The area carries prospects of an upcoming tourist spot. It has all the features of a very promising tourist and cultural point. Located on the Saraisor Beel in the east and Rupsi range forest in the west, the area wears a very attractive look from natural point of view. It is a natural wetland and resting place of migratory birds (Bali Ducks). Local people are hopeful that if authority takes proper initiatives, the Saraisor Beel is bound to develop into an enjoyable tourist spot in near future.
