Scams caught for embezzlement of Minority Scholarship funds

21 teachers across the state caught for embezzlement of minority student's scholarship funds on Monday

Guwahati: On Monday, according to top CID officials, a team of 51 police personnel conducted an investigation in different districts in the state under the suspicion of misappropriation of scholarship fund.

7 accused persons have been apprehended during a raid in Goalpara and Darrang, 6 from Kamrup metro and 1 from Dhubri.

Out of the 21 accused, 2 are women, 4 are head teachers. 3 are owners of CSP (Customer Service Point), 1 teacher, 2 inspector of school in the education department and 10 brokers.

In addition, 3 laptops, 217 photographs, 104 certificate and 11 passbooks have been seized by CID officials.

The CID decided to take matters in their hands after a complaint was registered by one Mamud Hassan.
