SEBA to declare HSLC and AHM results in first week of May

GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) is likely to announce the results of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations by the first week of May.

On Wednesday SEBA secretary, Suranjana Senapati informed that they are expecting to declare the results earlier than usual as 45 per cent work has been completed.

According to reports, RC Jain, SEBA chairman said, "We are positive about announcing the results in the first week of May. The examinations were held smoothly with a number of measures taken by the Board to ensure proper security and discipline throughout the examination process. Similarly, a number of measures have been taken to ensure accurate and timely announcement of the results."

This year, the Board of Secondary Education will possibly declare the results of HSLC and AHM much before than last year. Last year the results were declared in mid-May.

This year around 9,707 AHM candidates and 3,48,739 HSLC candidates appeared for the board examination In 860 centres in the states.

The 2020 HSLC or matriculation and the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations began from February 10 to February 29. All the exams were conducted under CCTV cameras.

To prevent students from using cellphones and other such devices, Signal Jammers were also installed at various examination centres across the State.

Earlier a training programme was held at Chariali HS and MP School, Biswanath Chariali for the evaluators of the ongoing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, 2020.

The programme was chaired by the Zonal Officer of Biswanath HSLC Zone, Swapna Borah Das. The head examiners, scrutinizers and examiners coming from different schools under the zone were imparted training by mentor of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), Hemanga Hazarika.

Similar training programme was also held at Gohpur Girls’ High School for the Gohpur HSLC Zone. SEBA Mentor Prashanta Kakati imparted training to the evaluators while Gohpur Zonal Officer Jagadish Sharma sought the evaluators’ cooperation to conduct the evaluation process smoothly.
