‘Self-dependence is the real identity of merit’

GAURISAGAR, July 11: Around 160 students who passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination and Higher Secondary (HS) examination, 2018 with flying colours from various educational institutes of greater Jhanji area, were felicitated by the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Jhanji Regional Committee recently at Jhanji Garamur. In this connection, a felicitation meeting was held under the chairperson of Arup Saikia, adviser of AJYCP Jhanji Anchalik Samiti. Addressing the meeting as a chief guest, Dr Dayanonda Borgohain, chairman of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), said that professional education was the real education. The aim of education should not be job-oriented. “If we engage our meritorious youth in agriculture and industry then they will be independent and the State will also progress economically,’’ he said.
