Sericulture Information Centre inaugurated in Lakhimpur district

The students of the College of Sericulture, Titabar, Assam Agricultural University, inaugurated a Sericulture Information Centre at Gohain-Tekela village

LAKHIMPUR: The students of the College of Sericulture, Titabar, Assam Agricultural University, inaugurated a Sericulture Information Centre at Gohain-Tekela village under North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle of Lakhimpur district on Wednesday.

The Sericulture Information Centre was set up under their ongoing 'Rural Sericultural Work Experience Programme'. The information centre was inaugurated by Dr Prabal Saikia, the Chief Scientist of Regional Agricultural Research Station, North Lakhimpur, who attended the programme as the chief guest. Professor Apurba Das from the College of Sericulture, Titabar, Assam Agricultural University, and scientists from RARS, were present in the event along with the villagers.

The students have decided to keep the information centre open on Saturday every week to discuss the problems faced by the farmers in the locality and to give them all possible solutions.
