Seujia Samaj Sangeet Mahavidyalay, Sivasagar celebrated its 77th foundation day

SIVASAGAR: Seujia Samaj Sangeet Mahavidyalay, Sivasagar celebrated its 77th foundation day with various cultural programmes which ended with a cultural evening at the Mahavidyalay premises on Monday. People of every age group crowded the Mahavidyalay and showed their utmost affection, love, support and dedication.

The day's celebration began with flag hoisting in the morning at the Mahavidyalay premises located at Sankar Mandir Road by Saurav Chaliha, President, Seujia Samaj Sangeet Mahavidyalay Management Committee, which was followed by Smriti Tarpan to pay tributes to founder president of the Mahavidyalay Seuj Konwar Parag Chaliha, founder principal Atul Sarma, former president Dakhinacharan Baruah, Lila Bordoloi, former principal Makhan Bhuyan and Bidya Goswami by Arati Baruah, Principal of the Mahavidyalay.

The cultural evening, titled 'Sur Sangam' kicked off with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by noted cultural artist Makhan Bora, Sadikur Rahman, journalists Manirul Islam Bora, Manoj Gogoi and Sanjib Dey, accompanied by a 'Saraswati Vandana' by the teachers of the Mahavidyalay.

The cultural programme, which followed, was a spectacular presentation of 'Krishna Nritya', and 'Kaliya Daman' under the direction of Dipamoni Gogoi. Principal Arati Baruah offered the vote of thanks. The programme which was anchored by Sanjib Bora, ended with a presentation of the Jatiya Sangeet.
