Seven cyclists from EME of Indian Army Aim Towards Guinness World Record

Tezpur: Seven cyclists from the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineer (EME) of Indian Army are currently on an Ultra Cycling Expedition, christened “Jai Bharat”. The aim of the expedition is to break the existing Guinness World Record of long-distance cycling in a single country. The team is presently in Assam led by Lt Col Vishal Ahlawat. The team plans to travel more than 25,000kms pan India. This expedition is being taken up to commemorate the platinum jubilee of the Corps of EME, by paying homage to martyrs and spreading the message of a clean, green and pollution free India. The cyclists also aim to become the fastest ones to cover ‘Golden Quadrilateral’ route by cycle and make a mark in the Limca Book of Records for the fastest North-South and East-West traverse by cycle, said Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande, Defence PRO Tezpur.
