Guwahati: The Directorate of Vigilance &
Anti-Corruption of Assam has arrested one Sub-Inspector of Assam police while
allegedly taking a bribe.
The Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) GP Singh has said that Sub Inspector Abdul Jalil of Golaghat Sadar Police Station was arrested red-handed on Thursday by a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption of Assam while accepting Rs 10, 000 out of demand Rs 30, 000.
"Sub Inspector Abdul Jalil of Golaghat Sadar Police Station arrested red-handed today by @DIR_VAC_ASSAM team while accepting INR 10,000 out of demanded INR 30,000. @CMOfficeAssam @assampolice @mygovassam", he wrote on his Twitter.
Earlier, The Assam Vigilance & Anti-Corruption team has arrested one Gulzar Hussain for accepting a bribe. Gulzar Hussain currently works as the Mondal at the Thelamara Revenue Circle Office. He was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000. This news was shared by the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, on its official Instagram handle. The tweet read, "Gulzar Hussein, presently Mondal at Thelamara Rev Circle Office arrested today by V&AC @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while accepting bribe of INR 50,000."
Earlier this month, the Nagaon police arrested an accountant of the Nagaon Treasury after interrogating Khushboo Harlalka, who was earlier caught red-handed while receiving a bribe from the police constable.
