Sivasagar DC issues direction to use Assamese in official correspondence

SIVASAGAR: The newly-appointed Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, Lakhinandan Gogoi interacted with the media persons of Sivasagar district recently at the Sukafa conference hall at his office. Gogoi took charge from outgoing Deputy Commissioner Dr. MS Lakhsmi Priya, who has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon.

He solicited suggestions to carry important activities in the district. During the meet, the media persons of Sivasagar, Demow, Gaurisagar, and Desangmukh raised various issues of public concern regarding parking of vehicles, traffic jam, the poor condition of roads, and potentialities in the tourism sector. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the media persons and assured to resolve these problems. He said that media should play its role in disseminating information about various policies, schemes, and programs of the government for the benefit of the people.

Gogoi also informed that direction had been issued to the department heads to use the Assamese in all official communication from now on. District Development Commissioner Nawab Al-Azhar Ali and DIPRO Syeda Hasnahana were also present on the occasion.
