Social worker Anil Bora passes away in Doomdooma

Anil Bora, a resident of Bezbaruah Sarani, passed away on Wednesday afternoon.

DOOMDOOMA: Anil Bora, a resident of Bezbaruah Sarani, passed away on Wednesday afternoon. He was ailing for some time. He was 69 and is survived by his wife Kalyani Bora, two sons and a host of relatives.

He was former office secretary of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Doomdooma Anchalik Committee, former teacher, Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya, and a stout devotee of Doomdooma Namghar. He was the eldest son of Bhairab Chandra Bora who was the pioneer in spreading secondary education in this industrial township during the 50s of last century. His death cast a pall of gloom in the town and was widely mourned by many organizations, including Doomdooma Ramdhenu Mahila Chora, Doomdooma Namghar Samity, Doomdooma Asamiya Puja Aru Natyamandir Samity, Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha and others. His last rites were performed in Doomdooma Smashan Ghat.
