Tezpur, July 7: In a recent move, the Joint Director of Health Services, Sonitpur has decided to shift the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, Medical Board office, Tezpur to the Medical College and Hospital campus at Tumuki, Bihaguri around 20 km from Tezpur town, said Utpal Bhuyan, secretary, North Assam Divyang Association while talking to this correspondent. He further added that the reason cited was that there were no orthopaedic doctors available for the DDRC. Meanwhile, Bhuyan has urged that one orthopaedic doctor should visit the DDRC at least once a month instead of shifting the office which would add more woes to the already suffering patients.
“We have already submitted a memorandum to the Circle Officer, Tezpur Revenue Circle for necessary action,” he added.
