Special workshop on horticulture held in Sonitpur

A two-day workshop on horticulture and beauty & wellness under the aegis of National Skill Qualifications Framework

TEZPUR: A two-day workshop on horticulture and beauty & wellness under the aegis of National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF), Vocational Education Stream at Hem Barua Higher Secondary School, Ghoramari in Sonitpur Concluded on Monday. Different sessions on horticulture (agriculture) and beauty & wellness were held where knowledge was imparted by four resource persons from concerned areas. The inaugural session was presided over by Gopinath Brahma, Principal of Hem Barua H S School in presence of Bhargab Dev Sarma, Momi Pegu, Vocational Teacher, Hem Barua H S School among others.

The first session was addressed by Sourabh Roy, a youth entrepreneur from Barpeta district on 'Mushroom Cultivation and its scope in Assam'. He demonstrated mushroom bag production. Another resource person, beautician Momita Koch Bhuyan spoke on the topic 'Beauty Make-Up'. The second day started with a special class by Angana Sharma , a Subject Matter Specialist from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sonitpur. She also spoke on ' Post Harvest Management of Horticultural Crop'. The other Session was addressed by Sushila Sing (Beautician) who gave a practical class on the topic ' Facial'.

All the resource persons made the session lively and the participants expressed their satisfaction. All the resource persons were accorded by the organizers with a phulam gamusa and saplings. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Bhargab Dev Sarma and Momi Pegu, Vocational Teacher, Hem Barua H S School.
