LAKHIMPUR: The Static Surveillance Teams (SST) have remained vigilant against violation of Model Code of Conduct under Lakhimpur Election District. On Tuesday evening around 5:35pm, SST—2, led by Narottam Baruah, under No. 110 Naoboicha LAC, seized an amount of Rs. 1,58,855 at Kimin Check Post Point from a person named Suban Chetri. The cash was seized on account of transporting over Rs. 50,000 by violating MCC. In this connection, a case was filed at the Police Outpost concerned. No connection of any contesting candidate with the cash was traced.
