MANGALDAI: "The students who cannot secure ranks or even the first or second division are not a burden to the family or the society, but also assets of the society. It is the duty of the society to show them the right path to transform them in to blessings to the society." With this motto, the newly-formed Darrang United Club at Na Howly (Pakabangipara) near here led by journalist and assistant secretary of Gauhati Press Club, Munindra Deka on August 21 organized a function to offer felicitation to all the students of the rural area and to motivate them in finding an alternative way for their placement.
The organizers are also planning to establish a library to make reading and study a regular habit among the children. In the function conducted by media person Ganesh Dutta, President's award recipient teacher Shashangka Hazarika, Principal of Gurukul Senior Secondary School, Sangeeta Adhikari Sarkar, Associate Professor of Cotton University, Tilak Hazarika and businessman-cum-social activist Kiriti Bora took part as the invited guests and interacted closely with the students and advised them in choosing the right path as per their interest and capability. Media person Bhargab Kumar Das also attended the function and talked on the hidden possibilities and talents in every students.
In the function, all the students, including the third division holders in HSLC and HSSLC examination of the locality, were gifted with inspiring books and letter of citation to motivate and inspire them.
