Tezpur University Hosts Six-Day Econometrics Course for Northeast Scholars

More than 30 participants from diverse institutions engage in hands-on research training

Tezpur University successfully concluded a six-day short-term course titled “Application of Econometrics in Research: Recent Trends” from July 14 to 19, 2025. The programme was organized under the UGC-MMTTC initiative in collaboration with the university’s Department of Commerce.

Designed to enhance research capabilities, the course attracted over 30 participants from premier institutions across the Northeastern region. It offered an in-depth exploration of econometric methodologies, focusing on their practical applications in contemporary research. Key areas covered included advanced econometric tools, the integration of artificial intelligence in data analysis, and sessions on mental well-being for researchers—highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to academic work.

The sessions were led by experts in the field, ensuring a rich and engaging learning experience for attendees. During the valedictory function, Vice Chancellor Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh emphasized the increasing relevance of econometrics in research, particularly in the context of data-driven decision-making and policy formulation. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained in their respective fields to drive impactful research and innovation.
