BOKAKHAT: Thieves carried out a robbery on Tuesday night at the historic Babathan in Numaligarh. Amid the devastating floods of the Dhansiri river in Numaligarh, the thieves broke open the main gate of Babathan temple and entered the premises. They took away the donation box from inside the temple and fled with the money, leaving the donation box on the roadside. The donation box had not been opened for a long time, so the exact amount of money inside was unknown. A police investigation is ongoing, but no trace of the thieves was found till the filing of this report. It was also unclear what other items might have been stolen.
