TEZPUR: Acting on a tip-off, a successful operation was conducted by Chariduwar Police. During the operation, a cattle laden container truck was seized at Balipara area.
OC Chariduwar, Pradip Rajkhowa said that the 23 cattle were seized from the truck bearing registration number AS01BC-9943. Two persons were arrested in this connection. The arrested were identified as Asraful Islam and Nur Mohammad, both from Salsali village under Rupahi PS in Nagaon district. In yet another incident of cow smuggling, a successful operation was conducted by Tezpur night patrolling team with the help of Naka team lead by ASI Munaf Ali with 22nd Ap IR BN personnel on Thursday night. During the operation, a cattle-laden truck bearing registration number AS 23 BC 6186 was seized at Kaliabhumura under Tezpur Sadar Police station. It was going to Lakhimpur and driver Akbor Ali, resident of Hatimuria under Moirabari PS in Morigaon district, was arrested. The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of Dr Dhananjay Ghanawat, Superintendent of Police, and Additional SP (Headquarter) Madhurima Das.
