Kokrajhar: To attract the tourists, the BTC Tourism Department in association with Adventurer’s Abode jointly organized a 10-day long training of paramotoring for youths that started on Thursday at Dheer Beel in Kokrajhar which is known and famous for Chakrasila Wildlife Sanctuary in Kokrajhar.
Talking to media persons, Mahon Chandra Brahma, Director of the BTC Tourism Department said that four years ago Bodoland tourism department introduced paragliding for the first time in Northeast to add flavour of adventure sports for all and trained pilots have been flying at Dangdupur hills in Chakrasila in Kokrajhar. In addition of Paragliding, BTC tourism department has started powered paragliding or paramotor and organized a 10-day training at Dheer Beel in Chakrasila Wildlife Sanctuary. He said that the training has been taking place at Dheer Beel for youths and two pilots from Delhi have been imparting training to three youths. The trained youths would be engaged and the department will purchase two or three powered paramotor equipments for the adventure lovers as well as for all visitors and tourists.
Brahma said, “I requested to Adventurer’s Abode co-founders Hemen Borah and Sashi Sekhar Boro to bring one paramotor for giving training to youths at Dheer Beel and Adventurer’s Abode, Guwahati. He also said that they will jointly organize adventure events at Dheer Beel in next year January 2019 and it will be good for all adventure viewers as well as for local people. He further said Sikkim, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh etc. will be participating in the adventures events.
Hemen Borah and Sashi Sekhar Boro co-founders of Adventurer’s Abode Guwahati said that they have been organizing adventure events in Northeast as well as in other parts of the country and adventure activities like mountaineering, rafting, adventure trips, trekking, zapping etc. are being carried out. They said that two pilots named Bibal DK and Tarik from Delhi have been giving paramotor training to youths at Dheer Beel for 10 days.
