Tributes paid to CRPF jawans in Tezpur

Tezpur: Tezpur Youth, Marwari Yuva Manch and Mahila Jagrati Sabha organized a meeting at Parking Area in the heart of Tezpur town to pay tribute to the CRPF jawans killed in the Pulwama terror attack. While paying floral tribute to the brave martyrs, Dr. Nathmal Tibrawal, president of Purvattar Hindi Sahitya Sammelon, strongly condemned the brutal killing of the brave jawans. He also demanded for surgical strike against the masterminds of the terror attack.

DEMOW: Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha (BAYM), Demow Town Committee and Brihattar Asomiya Mahila Mancha on Saturday evening paid tribute to the CRPF jawans who were martyred in the Pulwama terror attack. BAYM activists lit earthen lamps and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyred jawans. They also burnt Pakistan’s flag and shouted slogans. Jadab Gogoi, president of BAYM, Sivasagar District Committee and other BAYM leaders and Brihattar Asomiya Mahila Mancha leaders were present in the programme.

TANGLA: The people of Tangla town paid homage to the 44 martyrs of the ghastly Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The Akhil Hindi Bhasi Yuva Chatra Parishad Tangla regional unit organized a candlelight rally from Tangla Central Bank of India point which culminated at Amrit Bhavan in Tinali. Hundreds of people joined the peace rally holding candles. People also lit hundreds of candles at Tangla Railway Station point where the activists of the students’ body shouted anti-Pakistan slogans and burnt the flag of Pakistan. Addressing the gathering, vice-president of the central committee, Binod Kumar Singh said, “We will never forget the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs who lost their lives in the cowardice attack. We appeal to the government to take stern measures against terrorism and their supporters.” Activist Chandan Singh said, “We salute the brave martyrs who laid down their lives to protect us. They are real heroes of the nation. Justice for them will not be complete till the perpetrators of the crime across the border are taught a lesson,” he added.

NAHARKATIA: The Naharkatiya College Students’ Union, led by its president Jit Das, organized a ceremonial lighting of lamps in the Naharkatiya College compound to pay homage to the 44 martyrs of the Pulwama attack.

The members of AASU, Naharkatia regional unit, were present in the ceremonial lighting. They demanded that the Indian government should carry out surgical strike in Pakistan as revenge for the 49 CRPF personnel who were martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.

On the other hand, the Tai Ahom Juba Parishad, Assam Naharkatia subdivisional committee, also paid homage to the martyrs by lighting lamps in Joypur Ttiniali at Naharkatia. On Saturday night, businessmen and shopkeepers also paid homage to the martyrs by lighting lamps and taking out a candlelight march towards Naharkatia town. Later, they burnt the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at Joyur Tinali Naharkatia. They demanded surgical strike in Pakistan as soon as possible.
