Two injured in separate road accidents on NH-17 in Kamrup district

BOKO: Two people were seriously injured in two different road accidents on NH-17 at Boko in Kamrup district on Wednesday.

The first accident took place in Dakuapara village on the NH-17 when a Maruti Suzuki Dzire (AS 01DK 6900) coming from Dhubri towards Guwahati and a Scooty (AS 25N 0190) collided head-on. Boko Police immediately reached the spot and recovered all injured persons and admitted them to the Boko First Refer Unit Hospital. Police Officer Sarat Medhi said that the Scooty rider Dhiraj Kalita (45) was injured seriously and he was referred to GMCH.

The second accident took place near Boko High School on NH-17 when a cyclist was returning home from the market and while crossing the highway, an Innova car (ML 05J 6181) coming from Guwahati and going towards Tura struck the cyclist from behind and the cyclist was seriously injured. Police immediately reached the spot and admitted him at Boko FRU hospital but he was immediately referred to GMCH for better treatment. The injured person's name is Pran Krishna Dainapali (60). He is a retired teacher.
