Two wild jumbos die due to electrocution at Rani Bakarapara village, Boko

BOKO: Two wild elephants died due to the electrocution on Saturday morning at Rani Bakarapara village.

According to locals, the elephants were coming from Rani forest to the village area in search of food. Two elephants died due to electrocution while they were trying to eat bamboo which was connected to electricity distribution wire. On Saturday morning, villagers saw the bodies of the elephants and immediately informed the Rani Forest Office.

Range officer Manoranjan Barman and his team immediately went to the spot. Later, veterinary doctors conducted post-mortem and then the forest officials and locals cremated both elephants. Range officer Manoranjan Barman said that the ages of the elephants were around 35 to 40 years old.
