KOKRAJHAR: The Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT), established with the aim of propagating the philosophy and ideals of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, expressed its gratitude to the people from all walks of life, scholars, political leaders, social activists, and citizens, who have been visiting Thulungapuru, the eternal resting place of Bodofa, to pay their tributes.

In a statement, the Chairman of the UNBT and Principal of Kokrajhar Govt College, Dr Dimasha Dwibrang Mashahary, said that Thulungapuri, developed with the collective efforts of the state government and the people, had emerged not only as a site of homage but as a spiritual and philosophical centre symbolizing Bodofa’s profound message of peace, unity, and the principle of ‘Live and Let Live.’ He said that it also stood as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the upliftment of the downtrodden and marginalized communities, for whom he had tirelessly raised his voice and envisioned a future grounded in justice, dignity, and equal opportunity.

Mashahary said that UNBT, however, has come to know that during such visits, media interactions are held within the Thulungapuri premises which sometimes involve political statements or comments which, according to UNBT, is contrary to the sanctity of the place and to the revered image of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, who was regarded by the people as a visionary above politics, akin to the stature of Mahatma Gandhi.

In this regard, the Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) made an appeal to all visitors to refrain from making any political or politically controversial statements within the Thulungapuri compound and to the media fraternity not to pose any politically-related questions during visits to Thulungapuri. He also said that Thulungapuri stood as a beacon of inclusive philosophy and people’s unity. He appealed to all to preserve its sanctity by ensuring that the place remained above political discourse and continued to inspire generations with Bodofa’s noble ideals.
