Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Assam on August 29 to take part in the Panchayat Conference to be held in Khanapara. During the event, he will interact with the newly elected representatives of Zila Parishad , Anchalik Panchayat and Gaon Panchayat. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the information during a media interaction on Friday.
The visit is expected to strengthen Centre State Cooperation on rural governance and development. Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to visit Assam on September 8, further underlining the importance of the state in national planning and outreach.
